Mocu Motivator Spotlight: Marathon Matt

About: Matt seeks to balance family, work, and fitness and inspires us to do the same. Between two young kids, a demanding job as a Chief Investment Officer for a financial firm, and his wife's career which involves extended travel, his time is limited and he makes the most of it. Nutrition is all the more important to keep his family healthy and happy. Matt stays fit by adding a few half marathons or long trail runs on his yearly events calendar. 

Matt Said:
“I had bad asthma as a kid and could never run more than a quarter of a lap. Even in 2009, I couldn’t run a mile. In 2010 I crossed a 5k, 10k and a half marathon off the list. In 2011, I crossed a marathon off. In 2012, I was an ultramarathoner.”

“The chia drink mixes are great to have for the road when traveling because access to healthy foods at business events or conferences is limited. I love being able to bring a few Mocu packets in my suitcase and get a healthy little snack in the morning or late night”

“I also use them in the afternoon at work, I always tend to get a bit sleepy around 3 pm, and these do a great job of giving me a bit of energy without having to resort to sugary snacks.”

Favorite Mocu Product(s): He likes to mix chia seeds into oatmeals or parfaits, and takes chia and kombucha packets on the road during work travel or vacations.

“It was a race I’ll always look back on fondly, regardless of how terrifying it was at times. It was the moment I proved so many people in my past wrong. It was the moment I realized that if a wind sucking, clumsy runner with bad breathing habits like myself can finish a 100 mile footrace, than anything in life was truly possible.”
